Ok, yeah, it was ok when Radiohead said they were going to do it, but what’s up with everyone following in their footsteps? It’s nice that bands are starting to realize that people are more likely to pirate their music due to their high price, but it’s not going to work. You do realize that the fact that there’s no price tag that there’s really not a way for it to be charted on iTunes and other music sites. It’s kinda like when they put those Single of the Week, they aren’t counted since they’re free.
Since Radiohead have already championed this aspect of putting out their music, why even bother at trying with other bands? It just makes them look bad because they’re trying to steal the glory from them by basically saying “oh, we can do the same as you!” I’m just beginning to think that the msic industry is getting more lame by saying this is cool and that everyone needs to be doing the same thing to look cool.
